The land habor of Zhoucun ancient town was called as Zhoucun ancient commerical town, which is also entitled as "the No.1 villiage of the world" locating in the middle of Shangdong province, one popedom of Zibo city, Shangdong province. Early in the beginning of Qing dynasty and at the end of Ming dynasty, Zhoucun, as a famous commerical town, was already one of the four biggest land harbors with no connection to the canalage. The land harbor of Zhoucun mainly consists of ancient streets like The Main Street, Silk Market Street, Sliver Market Street, and soon.The area of ancient architectures reaches about 50,000 square meters. There're lots of historic sites inside the ancient town. The shops and stores are everywhere. The street blocks intertwined with each other. And the architecture styles are quite different which could only be seen within Shandong province. Still works as an commercial center nowadays. Also called as the "living museum group of ancient commerical architecture of China". |

The boiling pot started in the pre-Qing Dynasty period. And little by little, it began flourishing with the opening up of the Main Street. "The boiling pot of Ding family" has a very complicated manufacturing technologies with strict formula. The formula includes chicken, leg bones of pig, fumet, fried bean curd, intestines of pig, pellets of Huizhou, etc. All these things are put into the big pot and boiled over a specially made stove slowly. On the top of the oven, place a big piece of table. On the table, tens of dish bowls are placed fixedly. Each guest has one of them. Very handy and hygeian.

The clay oven rolls of Zhoucun has a long history of about 1800 years which features in its "fragrance, crispness, flimsiness". It's round and flimsy with sesame kernels sticked all over the upside of the clay oven rolls and crisp holes bestrewed all over the reverso of the clay oven rolls. Hence, it's also called as dry leaves of poplar and will become broken cake if dropped from hand. The clay oven rolls could be either salty or sweet. And could be preserved for a long period without decay. The clay oven rolls of Zhoucun is famous overseas and once was given to Chairman Mao as a present.

The big dyehouse locates at No. 90 in the Silver Street. It is the site of Donglaisheng Silk Store which was founded during Daoguang period in Qing Dynasty. The business mode is similar to the TV play "Big Dyehouse", mainly, rectifying and dying the purchased silk and grey cloth and wholesaling them. The capital reached 30,000 liang White Silver. The branch stores were set up successively in Jinan, Tianjin, Beijing, etc. |

The Main Street is the biggest and most ancient commerical street of Zhoucun, founded in 1410 AD. The preliminary shape was fixed roughly in 1636 AD. It starts from the corner of the Silk Market Street and the Silver Market Street, reaches Suyi Gate in the north, with arctic pole pavilion bestrided in the middle which seperates the street in halves. The current street remained is the north part of it, which is 400 meters long. On both sides of the street, there're ancient Ming-Qing dynasty buildings befitted with flags, banners and many stores abustle with people. The crisscross street alleys, old houses strewed at random as well as the sino-western culture constructs the thick commercial cultural atmosphere and the unsophiscated custom. |

The Number One Scholar house is on the north side of the Silk Market Street. Its host, Wang Yingtong, is the only Number One Scholar in Zhoucun's history. The house has two yards. Between the two yards, there's a 2-story wood-brick building which is called as Number One Scholar building. Wang is a cleanhanded official. So the house features in simplicity and decency. Here're many living wares the host ever used in the past, such as furniture, porcelain etc., describing the life of the Number One Scholar on military of Qing dynasty. |
